God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

angela h = "For believers God Himself lives inside of us in the form of The Holy Spirit-"a very present help" ( See 1 Corinthians 3:16). We go to God for our refuge. See Psalm 91. We go to the Lord for our strength. See Philippians 4:13. "

angela h = "We don't fear because like verse says 1 God is with us. (See Psalm 23:4)We see what appears to be a string of natural disasters or perhaps a chain  reaction of natural disasters. We can be confident knowing that even if this earth is destroyed we will live eternally with God Himself. We will already be with God in heaven as this is going on. See Revelation 16:17-20.Selah means "pause and meditate" on what was just said... so we should study over how our relationship with Jesus makes a difference in a dire circumstance and how things would be different for us if we didn't have a relationship with the Savior."
angela h = "We switch here to a scene of heaven  and just as in the first 3 verses this is after the rapture of the church.Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as "living water" (See John 7:37-39)In Revelation 22:1 John says there is a pure river of water flowing from the throne of the Father and of the Son."
angela h = "We are told in Revelation 16-17 about the Battle of Armageddon. "The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved:"We see God here destroying the earth just by saying the word (the same way He created it). Peter tells us that the heavens and the earth will melt (1 Peter 3:10-18)After this there is a new heaven and a new earth. See Isaiah 65:17 and Revelation chapters 21-22."
angela h = "Again, believers are comforted knowing they will not endure any of the terrible things mentioned in this passage. We will be ruptured and already with Christ at this time.Selah! Think on that for a while!"
angela h = "We are invited to witness the power of the Lord. He has laid the earth waste. He has ended all war for all time. "
Cary W = "The only way to know and hear God is through stillness of thought and action, for His Spirit is so gentle and at times subtle, that any outward or noisy disturbance can easily grieve the Spirit away, or at least obscure His sacred whispering."
angela h = "We are well advised here to "be still and know that I am God;" Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily affairs, we forget to acknowledge God in our lives. I submit that when we do this our lives seem to come unraveled. When we acknowledge God first-He guides our lives. See Proverbs 3:5-6.God always wants to be #1 in our lives. We can make anything an idol if we are not careful. See Deuteronomy 5:6-9."

angela h = "This is the 3rd time that we are reminded that the Lord is with us. We are quick to forget so we need to be reminded often. Believers are the victors in Christ. See Romans 8:31."
