You and the Mustard Seed Jesus said, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” -Matthew 17:20 Today’s Word: My dear one, consider the mustard seed; though it is so small, yet I have told you, that if you have just a mustard seed of faith, then you can move a mountain. Remember that a little bit can become a lot when it is placed in My hands. The world says you must have big resources and great power, but this is not the way of My Kingdom. Big things are granted through My power, and your small efforts, because I AM the source, and the resource. When I asked My disciples to feed the multitudes, they answered, ‘Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?’ With seven loaves of bread and a few fish, over four-thousand were fed, with seven basketfuls of bread left over. With only five loaves of bread and two fish, over five-thousand people were fed, with twelve basketfuls left over. The measurement of My Kingdom is far different than the standard of the world. Place what you have in My hands, for I am the One who does the multiplication. Do not fear when you only have a little, because a little bit is always the beginning of great things with Me. Scripture: Matthew 17:20 “He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Luke 17:6 “He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.” Matthew 14: 15-21 “As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so that they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.’ Jesus replied, ‘They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.’ See: Matthew 15:32-38

1 Sarah R = "The context of this verse from Matthew 17: A man brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus' disciples but they were unable to help him. So they did right - they brought the boy to Jesus Himself, and Jesus healed Him. Then the disciples asked Jesus, why couldn't we do that? This verse is Jesus' response."
2 Sarah R = "This reminds me of the story of Gideon. God called Gideon to lead an army against Israel's enemies, but when the army gathered, God said there were too many people! God had Gideon decrease the army until only 300 men remained, so that when they had victory, it would be obvious that it was God who brought the victory. See the story in Judges 7."
3 Sarah R = ""I AM" is the first name that God gives Himself. Exodus 3:14 - "God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'" Jesus also used this name for Himself in John 8:58, "Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I AM!""
