Buddha Avalokitesvara

1 Ben N = "Avalokitesvara is Sanskrit for "Lord who looks down," the name given to the most well-known and widely revered bodhisattva (enlightened masters who postpone their own Buddhahood in order to return to the world of Samsara and work for the liberation of all living beings). The Lotus Sutra describes Avalokitesvara as the living embodiment of compassion, who hears the cries of all suffering beings, and who comes to the aid of all those who call his name (or her name, as Avalokitesvara manifests as both male and female)."
