1Sara Di Diego = "Ezili Freda is the Ezili for upper-class Haitian women. She is white and likes jewelry, being pretty and clean, and the color pink. Worshippers will usually wear pink during her birthday and ceremonies. She loves romance, which only belongs to the top 10% of the Haitian population, since they are the only ones who have enough time to bask in it.It is very hard to appease Ezili Freda. She will only ride someone if they have been clean for at least 24 hours, and have perfume and jewelry on.Work Cited:Brown, Karen McCarthy. Mama Lola: Voodoo in Brooklyn. 2Sara Di Diego = "Ezili Freda is married to both Ogou (Ezili Danto's lover) and Danbala. People are torn on whether she has children. Some people believe that she has a child, who she hides to appear younger and more appealing to men.She is a spirit from the Rada pantheon, which is "a group characterized by sweetness and even tempers" (Brown 246). When she is angry she will merely pout and withdraw into herself. While Danto will live the childbearing mode of women's sexuality, Freda will portray the love and romance side. Lasyrenn portrays the healing aspect of motherhood.Sometimes Freda will become obsessed with love and romance, in which she will have a dangerous unquenchable thirst for it. She will never have enough jewels, love, or honor. Sometimes she will end a ride in tears and frustration, while hugging herself. She is thus a hard model for worshippers to follow.Work Cited:Brown, Karen McCarthy. Mama Lola: Voodoo in Brooklyn.
