2 Sara Di Diego = "The Golden Temple was desecrated in Operation Blue Star, in which a minority population in India, Sikhs, were persecuted.  From 3 June 1984 to 6 June 1984, the Golden Temple was invaded.  The Prime Minister's ordered the military to take control over the Harmandir Sahib Complex and remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers.  Bhindranwale was the leader of a Sikh religious group and political activist.  Many sikhs were killed in the fighting.Work Cited:"
