Palm Sunday

1 Sarah R = "The entrance of Jesus to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday was such a significant event that all four gospel writers mention it. See  Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-10; Luke 19:28-38; and John 12:12-18."
2 Sarah R = "I wonder if this is supposed to be John. Although the Bible doesn't say that John was at Jesus' side, it seems like where he would be. Tradition believes that John was the youngest of the disciples and one of Jesus' inner three."
3 Sarah R = "Jesus' entrance on a donkey was significant for two reasons. One, a conquering king would come in on a horse, as opposed to a donkey. The use of the donkey signified that this was not One coming to conquer in the earthly sense, but He would be conquering (spiritually) sin and death. Two, this fulfills Old Testament prophecy that the Messiah would come on a donkey. See Zechariah 9:9."
