The Dome of the Rock

1 Sarah Mangum = "Here's a picture from my time in the Old City, Jerusalem."
2 Taylor B = "I first saw the Dome of the Rock back in the summer of 1993. Emerging from the tunnel connecting the plaza in front of the "Wailing Wall" of the Jewish Quarter, to the Via Dolorosa as it extended through the Muslim Quarter, I was struck not only by the numbers of people present, but also by the variety of faiths represented - Muslim, Jewish and Christian alike. Unfortunately that particular visit was marred by the presence of Israeli troops in the plaza and the tunnel to quell demonstrators rallying against Yasir Arafat's visit to Gaza. "
3 Yaakov ben Chaim Tzvi = "Yes, it's a real shame that Arabs continue to throw rocks at Jewish worshipers who want to pray at the holiest site in Judaism. Unfortunately, when Israel relinquished control of the area they recaptured in 1967 they turned over the Temple Mount to the Muslim Waqf who now refuses to allow Jews or Christians to pray on the mount. Only Muslims are allowed to pray and recently, Jews have been arrested for making a simple blessing over water on the holiest site as the Waqf forbids Jews from praying on their own land. Outrageous."
