1 Sara Di Diego = "Almost every religion has a Tree of Life.  Yaxche was considered the center of the world.  It is present in heaven, earth, and the underworld.  The Mayans believed the Yaxche's branches held up the heavens.  It was also the first tree ever created.Work Cited:http://www.sacred-texts.com/nam/maya/cbc/cbc06.htmhttp://commonground191.com/journal/costa_rica.htm"
2 Sara Di Diego = "The roots of the Yaxche is thought to house bats, who are symbols of the underworld.  Yaxche is believed to be a Ceiba tree.  This type of tree normally has 4 big branches, thus standing for the 4 cardinal directions, which are very important in Mayan religion.  Thus the branches form a kind of cross, which is a symbol used in rituals.  The eagles who roosted in the branches are thought to resemble heavenly messengers.Work Cited:https://www.deily.org/image/yaxche-the-tree-of-lifehttp://www.charmingnaturehotels.com/bilder/lagodearenal0.jpg"
