Cary W = "This is powerful and a much needed reminder in today's watered down gospel, where some even compare Christ to the Buddha or other so called holy men. There is only one begotten Son of God, and only this one redeems mankind from his trespass of God's commandments, of which we have all failed at one time or another."
angela h = "I agree, Cary. Today many leave the Holy Spirit out of salvation. If there is no conviction....there is no real conversion. Many "make a decision for Christ" without being drawn of the Spirit. John 6:44Simply repeating a prayer, doesn't save us!!We have too many "name it and claim it preachers today"! Being a Christian is about serving not being served. John 13Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 3:12 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." We can't tell people that if they give their lives to Jesus everything will be great from now on."
James Oppenheimer = "Does the learned gentleman really believe that God is loving? Does he believe that God is Just? Does he believe that God is merciful?Does the learned gentleman seriously believe that such a God would ever create such a thing as hell, let alone EVER send anyone there?Neither do I.This is but one of the terrible results of the erroneous practice of reading the poetic lines of scripture as if they were some kind of magic code book or a digest of divinely dictated rules -- the perfect distillation of divine will. Read the Bible literally -- and you get such howlers as "Hell is real."And from supposedly sensible, erudite people."
Cary W = "There is only one way to share the gospel of the good news- let the Spirit work in our life true repentance, so that He may convict the hearer of our message of God's righteous judgment of sin, and that through confession, repentance and acceptance of His gracious atoning work in Christ, we may be saved."
Cary W = "We are not to preach God's law to arouse fear of hell and eternal damnation, but rather to convict everyone of their need for atonement through repentance. For without holiness, no man shall stand before God and the great and terrible Day of the Lord. We must be clothed in Christ in order to stand before Him blameless each day."
