Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man 1Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” 3At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” 4Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7Then the man got up and went home. 8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man. The explanation of Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, Notice* Jesus did not say which one easier , forgiving sins or healing people But He said Which one easier (to say ) this or that .At that time the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming' They said that because they believed that only God Can forgive the sins. But Jesus said that to let them know that He has the Authority on earth to forgive the sins and Jesus chose to heal original reason of sickness which is "sin" by choosing to heal his sins it was harder because it contain both: forgiveness and Physical healing. then Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God.

2 Sarah R = "We do not know much about this man, how he came to be paralyzed, or what his real needs were. But Jesus did. He looked at the man lying on a mat, and saw into his heart. He saw spiritual need - a man in need of forgiveness. So He gave what the man really needed, rather than what perhaps was expected. "
3 Sarah R = "As only God can forgive sins, Jesus' claim to be able to do so was akin to claiming to be equal to God. This wasn't the only time Jesus claimed to be equal to God. See the article, "Who did Jesus say that He is?" for more."
