David M. Carr’s most recent book is written for the general audience, "Holy Resilience: The Bible's Traumatic Origins" (Yale University Press, Fall 2014) and furthers his reputation as an internationally renowned expert on the history of how and why the Bible was written. He is professor of Old Testament at Union Theological Seminary in New York, author of nine books, chief co-editor of the International Exegetical Commentary on the Bible as well as a member of multiple editorial boards.
