Dena Merriam

Dena Merriam began working in the inter-faith movement in the late 1990s and found that women and the Dharmic religious traditions were very much under-represented at international inter-faith gatherings. Her work with the Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW), an NGO which she founded, has been devoted to creating a global platform and giving a stronger voice to these marginalized religious leaders in the inter-faith movement. In 2014, she was honored with the Niwano Peace Prize for her interfaith peace efforts.
