1 Sara Di Diego = "Given the opinion towards lepers at this time, Jesus' actions was a big form of foreshadowing towards his role as a sacrifice for all sins.  Lepers were segregated from the rest of the community, because it was believed that they were so full of sin that their outward appearance started becoming disfigured, and that leprosy was a curse for being sinful.  Thus if any "good" person touched them, they would immediately become unclean. Thus Jesus' healing and touching of these extremely sin-filled people was the perfect metaphor for his future important action. "
