The Generosity of God Intro: Giving is the joy of God’s heart. It brings God pleasure to give and provide. Open your heart and learn to receive His goodness yet more and more. What a treasure to have a God that is so generous. Consider these scriptures and think of the many ways He delights in giving. Prayer: Father, You are a God who loves to give good things to Your children. I trust in Your goodness and steadfast love. You have given me many things already. I have peace, and my heavy heart has been lifted by Your salvation. The beauty of Your creation is always nearby to enjoy. The song of the birds and the sparkling stars in the night sky. You are generous and I rejoice that You are my God. You give help to the needy and wisdom to those who ask. Your word says, “no good thing do You withhold from those who walk uprightly.” Thank You for Your goodness. I accept all that You want to give me, I delight in Your generous heart. Scripture: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son…” 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed…” Nehemiah 9:20 “And Thou didst give Thy good Spirit to instruct them…” Nehemiah 9:27 “Thou didst hear from heaven, and according to Thy great compassion Thou didst give them deliverers who delivered them from the hand of their oppressors.” Psalms 18:35 “Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand upholds me; And Thy gentleness makes me great.” Psalms 29:11 “The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.”

1 Cary W = "We can turn this verse against every weak or negative image or thought we have, so that being filled with grace abounding, we have a full cup to pore upon all good and generous deeds."
2 Cary W = "God alone saves, and because salvation is of Him, and not ourselves, it becomes a shield of protection and safe keeping against all attacks of God in us.  In our breath, we can acknowledge God upholds us with His own hand, and it is the gentleness and kindness of God, that brings out our inner greatness, in confidence and solid faith."
