Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you. Psalms 103:13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. Deuteronomy 1:31 and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place. Job 1:4-5 His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. When the days of feasting had completed their cycle, Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all; for Job said, "Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." Thus Job did continually. Matthew 7:9-11 Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! Luke 11:11-13 Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? Colossians 3:20-21 Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart. Proverbs 15:5 A fool rejects his father's discipline, But he who regards reproof is sensible. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. "You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

2 Sarah R = "Job prayed for and interceded for his children. This sets an example for us as parents to also not only teach our children about God but also to pray for them regularly, that they might follow after Him and grow in faith."
3 Sarah R = "These go together. A father should not exasperate his children, that they may be obedient to him. A child should be obedient to his father, that his father may not exasperate him."
