Here's a nice quote from the Pali Canon, the oldest Buddhist texts. Taṃ nadīhi vijānātha: sobbhesu padaresu ca, saṇantā yanti kusobbhā, tuṇhīyanti mahodadhī. Translated into English: Learn this from the waters: in mountain clefts and chasms, loud gush the streamlets, but great rivers flow silently. That's from: Sutta Nipāta 3.725 If you go to: http://www.pariyatti.org You can sign up for daily Twitter quotes from the Pali Canon that you can also get in your email, which makes for skillful, web-based reflections.
