1David Zuniga PhD MDIV MA = "Hi Cary, thanks for posting this video. Respectfully though, I really question the authenticity of this. We're told at the end of the video that it was copied in 1954 from a Thai Temple. Presumably the original passage wasn't written in English as it was supposedly an ancient temple in Thailand, correct? Who copied it? Who translated it? This video was obviously made with the intention to proselytize, and Buddhist ideas (eg karma and nirvana) are recast in highly Christian terms). There is no Buddhist text (Pali, Sanskrit etc) that ever said such things. About 50% of ancient Buddhist texts can actually be read as atheism/agnosticism. For the other 50%, if one wants to read them as affirming some kind of literal afterlife in Buddhist cosmology the Buddha clearly says that being a Buddha is above/superior to being a God or Gods (see for example the Buddhist idea of the 6 realms of rebirth and how a Buddha escapes all 6 realms). It's important to have interfaith dialogue, and there are some interesting similarities in the mythology of Buddhism and Christianity, but in no way does this video represent Buddhist thought or resemble any Buddhist texts. Sincerely, David Zuniga"
2WHITE WOLF = "I WONDER IF THE THEOLOGY IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME, AND THE INTREPITALIKE. ATION IS NOT WHAT CREATES THE DIFFERENCES IN THE TWO. THE PARABLES ARE SO MUCH THE SAME ..... JESUS WAS BORNED WAY LATER THAN BUDDHA, SO COMMON SENSE TELLS ME THAT SOMEONE SHARED THESE HIDDEN TRUTH WITH THE CHRIST. MUCH LIKE RUNNING A RACE WHERE YOU HAND OFF A TORCH TO THE NEXT RUNNER. I AM CARRYING A TORCH THAT WAS PASSED TO ME FROM GOLDEN EAGLE [A NATIVE SHAMAN] AND I AM RUNNING THE RACE WITH ALL THE STRENGTH I CAN MUSTER UP. "
3John Alan Shope = "I'm personally convinced that Jesus did encounter Buddhist monks as a young man and was deeply influenced by them. The Christian story of Three Wise Men from the East visiting Jesus at his birth, most likely had it's roots in a much later encounter between Jesus and Buddhist monks. In my humble opinion, Jesus was more Buddhist than Christian. I even wrote a poem expressing this idea, https://www.onfaith.co/commentary/jesus-and-buddha"
