Dear Enakshi & all other friends, In this ageof Science and scientific tests and measures, it is almost impossible to claim such psycho-physical results. The music itself has different effects on the different people; it brings concentration to one students and causes a great disturbance to another one. I think all types of music, be it pop, jazz, Ravindra Sangit, the Classicals and the Folk Music from different parts of the world, is good and healing if the listener or the participator enjoys it. If the music gives some moments of happiness, it would definitely relieve from pain and add some hours to the lifespan. Though most of the Hindus do not understand Sanskrit, the Vedic mantras, which are chanted in different tones and melodies by Brahmans in religious rituals, sound pious and sweet to the ears of all Hindus. But this may not be true to the followers of other religion despite my recent observation in India that the priests of other religions have also started singing their preaches and religious texts in the same tone and manners. 'THERE IS NOTHING EITHER GOOD OR BAD BUT THINKING MAKES IT SO.' -William Shakespear
