1 Dineen Carta = "I had never heard it described in quite that way and it was beautiful.  Thank you for sharing."
2 John Alan Shope = "Good presentation of what love does. Jesus is the perfect model of love. A question remains. As the old hymn asks, "Must Jesus bear the cross alone? Paul explains in Colossians 1:24 how we all must "help complete what is still lacking in Christ's suffering."  I came from an evangelical tradition, which tends to see Christ as absorbing all the sin of the world for us, so that all we have to do is believe in him or trust him. I think this ignores all that Jesus taught about dying with him, taking up our own crosses, following in his steps, etc. For me, Jesus "saves us" by showing us how to love, and by inspiring us to love. And, perhaps, by reminding us that loves ultimately "saves" even those who, for whatever reasons, never learn to love, but forever need mercy. "
